This elected five member legislative
board-four Council positions and the Supervisor
meets the second Tuesday of every month with audit meetings being the
preceding Monday.
Planning Board

The seven member planning board is
appointed by the Town Board and meets the first and third Tuesday of
each month. Their duties are to review and approve all subdivision, site
plan, or special use applications. They are a volunteer board working
under New York State guidelines, as well as the guidelines provided by
the Town of Olive Subdivision Regulations, the Town of Olive Zoning
Ordinance as adopted June 6, 1975, with amendments, and Olive
Environmental Review Regulations.

The five member appeal board is
appointed by the Town Board and meets the first Thursday of each month
only when there is an application for review. Their determinations are
made in compliance with New York State law and the same local guidelines
as the Olive Planning Board. They issue interpretations of Olive's
Zoning Ordinance and Map, as requested by application, and make
determinations of whether or not to vary the Zoning Ordinance in
hardship cases.
Board of Ethics
This three member board is appointed by
the Town Board as per Local Law #2 of 1970 to render advisory opinions
to Town Officers in cases where standards of ethical conduct for public
officers is questioned.
Board of Assessment Review
This five-member board is appointed by
the Town Board and meets annually for the sole purpose of guaranteeing
taxpayers' rights by hearing real property assessment complaints and
arriving at fair and impartial determinations regarding those
complaints. Appointees must attend yearly training sessions in order to
appear in the hearings. New York State law requires that these
proceedings be held on the fourth Tuesday of May.
